What is an Equivalence Certificate (Denklik Belgesi)?

Are you studying in Turkey or planning to study in Turkey and you have never heard of an "Equivalence Certificate" or you may have heard about it but you still do not know what it is. Not to worry, here is an explanation for you.

An Equivalence Certificate is a certificate that proves that the education you recieved in your home country is equal to the education offered in schools in Turkey.

This certificate is offered by the ministry of education in Turkey popularly known as "Yuksek Ogretim Kurulu" or "YOK" for short.

In order to acquire your equivalence certificate, you will need to apply to the ministry for an evaluation after which the ministry will decide if you are eligible to study in any University in Turkey.
